Rose Ripley is a New York City based makeup artist. When she was a child, she was introduced to many films that helped her develop a fascination with how movies are made. As she grew up, Rose studied art and took classes in drawing and painting. Eventually, these passions progressed into a strong interest in character design and the transformative nature of special effects makeup due to the influence art had in her life as well.

Rose moved to New York City to attend Makeup Designory where she completed the Master’s program. There she has designed and executed many beauty and character makeups. She has also done makeup for beauty and fashion photo shoots with New York photographers and models from top New York agencies. Rose looks forward to continuing her work creating characters from the gorgeous to the grotesque and she seeks out opportunities to bring these characters to life.

 

Rose competed as a finalist in the Battle of the Brushes character/prosthetic competitions in both Sydney, Australia and Toronto, Canada where she competed against 7 other make-up artists from around the world.  She is also working on film projects.

 

Whether she is working on beauty makeup or special effects, Rose believes that makeup can help her clients find their identity. She believes that makeup can transform a person into anyone or anything they want to be. This will remain her primary focus as she continues to mold individuals into red carpet mavens or new alien life forms. To her, makeup is the key to creation.
